Eligibility for Support

Support through the Liaison Office is prioritized for households, schools, churches, and community groups located within the immediate vicinity of a KenGen power station or transmission corridor — including Sondu Miriu, Olkaria, and surrounding villages.

Requests from local administration (Chiefs, MCAs) and Public Baraza resolutions are treated with the same priority as requests submitted directly through the portal.

How to Submit a Request

Requests can be raised through four channels: the online Submit Request form, a scheduled Public Baraza, your Local Administration office, or an in-person Walk-In at the Olkaria Liaison Office.

Every request submitted through the portal receives a unique Request ID that can be used to track progress at any time from the homepage Quick Status Check.

  • Provide accurate contact details so the Liaison team can follow up directly.
  • Be specific about location — village, ward, or facility name — to speed up assessment.
  • One request per need — avoid bundling unrelated issues into a single submission.

Baraza Conduct & Etiquette

Public Barazas are open forums for raising community needs directly with Liaison Officers. To keep sessions productive and fair to everyone in attendance:

  • Speak through the assigned facilitator and wait your turn to be recognized.
  • Keep individual contributions concise so all voices are heard within the session time.
  • Follow up unresolved items through the portal using the reference number issued at the Baraza.

Escalation Path

If a request has not progressed past the expected timeline for its type, community members may escalate through the following steps, in order:

1. Contact the Liaison Office directly by phone or email referencing your Request ID.
2. Raise the matter at the next scheduled Public Baraza for your area.
3. Submit a written follow-up request through the Contact page, marked as an escalation.

Do's & Don'ts

Do keep your Request ID

You'll need it for status checks and any follow-up communication.

Do report on behalf of a group

Committees and school administrators are welcome to submit for their organization.

Don't submit duplicate requests

Duplicate submissions for the same need slow down processing for everyone.
