Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about using the portal, submitting requests, water supply, and community projects.

The portal is KenGen's official channel for communities living near our power stations to submit requests, track their progress, and reach the Community Liaison team directly — without needing to visit an office in person.
No account is required. Fill in the Submit Request form with your name and contact details, and you'll receive a unique Request ID you can use to check on progress at any time.
Use the Quick Status Check on the homepage and enter your Request ID (e.g. #047). You'll see whether it's Pending, Under Review, or Approved, along with the request name.
You can submit Community Project proposals (facility repairs, church roofs, classroom support), Water (Maji) Supply requests, or Complaints & Feedback for operational or environmental concerns.
Have your name, phone number, and village or facility location ready. Depending on the request type, you may also need to describe the facility, water quantity needed, or details of your complaint.
Most requests are acknowledged within 48 hours. Assessment and approval timelines vary by request type — water deliveries are typically fastest, while larger community projects go through a screening and budget review process.
Yes. Community representatives, church committees, and school administrators regularly submit requests on behalf of their group — just note the organization's name and your role in the message field.
Select "Water (Maji) Supply" on the Submit Request page, then specify the quantity needed, delivery frequency, and purpose (domestic or event use). Our team will confirm scheduling once reviewed.
Domestic water deliveries to communities near our power stations are provided as part of our community liaison program at no direct cost. Large-scale or commercial requests may be assessed separately.
Delivery frequency depends on demand and truck availability across all served communities. Recurring domestic needs (e.g. weekly delivery) can be noted on your request so the Liaison team can plan a regular schedule.
Submitted proposals are screened by the Liaison Office, followed by a field assessment from KenGen engineers where needed. Approved projects are prioritized based on community impact and available CSR budget.
Yes — visit the Projects Dashboard to see ongoing and completed work, including a full request workflow timeline and completion percentage for projects currently in execution.
Visit the Contact page for phone, email, and physical address details, or use the Submit Request form and a Liaison Officer will follow up directly based on your location.
The portal currently serves communities around Sondu Miriu, Olkaria, and surrounding stations, with coverage expanding as more Liaison offices come online.
